Patient’s Rights
As a Patient of Diliman Doctors Hospital, you have the right not to be discriminated against, to be treated by competent medical professionals and entitled to your confidentiality. Diliman Doctors Hospital encourages its patients to speak openly with their health care provider, take part in their treatment choices, and protect their own safety by being well informed and involved in their care.
Admission Process
DIRECT ADMISSION
Secure the Admitting Order from your Attending Physician. This is the primary requirement for Direct Admission. It must be submitted to the Admission Office.
In certain instances, the Admitting Physician may directly forward the Doctor’s Order to the Admission Department. Prior to admission, patients are requested to proceed to the Emergency Department for Health Declaration. For patients considered as Emergency Cases, they are directly escorted to the Emergency Department.
EMERGENCY ADMISSION
· Emergency Admission Slip duly signed by the ED Resident shall be the basis for assigning a room to the patient.
· In case the patient has no relative to process his/her admission, the Admitting Staff shall go to the Emergency Department to facilitate the admission of the patient.
· The Emergency Department shall be responsible for endorsing the patient, together with their medical files, to the Nursing Unit concerned.
Upon Admission, the patient or their representative must fill up the Admission Data Sheet. All information gathered must be complete and accurate as these will be part of the official hospital records.
ADMISSION UNDER HEALTH INSURANCE
Upon Admission, the patient or their representative must present their Health Card ID. The Admission Staff will inform the HMO of the admission and seek approval for the admission. Antigen tests are not covered by the HMO payment.
The Letter of Authorization (LOA) from the HMO must be forwarded to the Billing Section within 24 hours upon admission. Otherwise, an initial payment will be requested.
ADMISSION UNDER COMPANIES WITH CREDIT LINE
If your hospitalization is covered by a Company with an existing Credit Line with the hospital, a Letter of Authorization (LOA) or Letter of Guarantee (LOG) must be secured from the Company and forwarded within 24 hours to the Billing Section.
ADMISSION FEE
All admission whether Direct Admission, Emergency Admission, House Case, HMO or Self-Pay, shall be charged with the current admission fee.
Room Reservation
On the day you plan to be admitted, please call the Admission Department from 1:00PM onwards to confirm your reservation and room assignment. The room of choice will be reserved for a maximum of two (2) hours from the time of preferred admission, otherwise the room will be assigned to other waiting patients.
ROOM AMENITIES
All Private Rooms are provided with TV, telephone, and refrigerator. For Suite Rooms and Premier Rooms, additional amenities such as Lazy Boy, microwave and safety deposit box are included.
ROOM TRANSFER
Arrangement for room transfer shall be coordinated to the Admission Department by the Nursing Service concerned. Transfer of room from lower to higher rates shall be approved by the Billing Section. Patient requests for room transfer shall be charged accordingly.
GUEST ROOM
Relatives of the patient occupying the room after the patient has been transferred to the ICU is considered as a Guest Room. The patient’s relative shall be given an hour to vacant the room since a guest room is not allowed to give priority to incoming patients.
Initial Payment
An initial payment is requested upon admission for Non-HMO patients to cover the cost of initial procedures and/or medication for the first 24 hours. For Emergency Cases that are between life and death, initial payment is waived until such time that the patient is stable.
PHILHEALTH and Other Benefits
PHILHEALTH BENEFIT
If you are a PhilHealth Member or a dependent, you can avail of the benefits by submitting a properly accomplished PhilHealth Form to the PhilHealth Section located at the Ground Floor, Billing Section on or before discharge.
Forms may be requested from the Admission Department from 7:00PM to 8:00AM the following day. Please submit your PhilHealth Form on or before discharge.
DISCOUNTS
- To avail of Senior Citizen benefits, you are requested to present your valid Senior Card ID issued by the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs.
- For PWD (Person with Disability), you are requested to present your valid ID issued by the National Council of Disability Affairs or local DSWD.
Billing Guidelines
TENTATIVE BILLING STATEMENT
During hospitalization, you will be updated regularly regarding your hospital account. In the event that you are unable to settle the requested amount by the Billing Section, the system will automatically lock your hospital account and you will be on Red Tagged Status or Patient Personal Account. Medicines and procedures will be on cash basis.
• For HMO patients Cut-off time for discharge is 12:00NN
• Non-HMO or Self-Pay Cut-off time for discharge is 6:00PM
• Cut-off time for discharge is at 12:00NN.
• Room and Board cut-off time is at 12:00MN.
The Hospital accepts VISA, MasterCard, Debit Card, Credit Card and company cheque.
Discharge Procedures
- Your Attending Physician has to issue a May Go Home Order.
- The Nurse On Duty will advise you before proceeding to the Billing Section.
- After payment of the Hospital Account and Doctor’s Professional Fees to the Cashier, a Discharge Clearance shall be issued to the patient/relative.
- The Discharge Clearance shall be surrendered to the Nursing Station.
- Please vacateyour room within one (1) hour from payment of hospital bills to avoid additional room charges.
- The Nurse On Duty shall issue the Discharge Instruction to the patient/relative before going home.
- Our personnel will assist you from your room to the Lobby or to the Parking Area.
Rooming-In Policy
In compliance with RA 7600, otherwise known as the Rooming-In and Breastfeeding Act of 1992, Rooming-In is done at DDH.
This is done in the Rooming-In Ward or designated Private Room. Babies are roomed-in immediately after Normal Spontaneous Delivery and within 4 to 6 hours after Cesarean Section, provided that the mother’s condition is stable.
There is a Rooming-In Fee that corresponds to the room rate of the mother.
Feeding bottles and pacifiers are not allowed.

NEWBORN SCREENING
DDH is an accredited GLUCOSE-6-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE (G6PD) Confirmatory Test Center.

NOTE:
Children below 7 years old are not allowed to visit Ward Rooms, Private Rooms and ICU.
Only visitors free from fever or have no visible signs of illness and who are fully vaccinated with Complete Booster are allowed to visit.
Companions are the individuals who accompanies the patient in their room throughout their hospitalization.
Visitors are individuals who intend to visit the patient during the specified hours of visitation.
Guidelines for Patient’s Companion
- Only those vaccinated and with Complete Booster are allowed to accompany the patient for admission.
- Only one (1) companion is allowed in the Ward Rooms.
- Only two (2) companions are allowed in the Private Rooms.
- Watcher’s Pass will be issued by the Admission Staff upon admission.
- Only those with Watcher’s Pass will be allowed to enter the hospital beyond visiting hours.
- Lost Watchers Pass shall be charged Php 300.

Patient Safety & Security
- No weapon of any form shall be allowed inside the hospital. These must be declared and deposited at the Security Office.
- All Patients’ Rooms are furnished with lockers.
- The Executive Room, Suite Room and Isolation Room are provided with safety deposit boxes.
- If you leave your room, make sure that it is securely locked.
- We advise you not to bring jewelry and other valuables during your confinement period.
- The management will not be responsible for any loss of valuables and personal items.

General Rules to be Observed
- Diliman Doctors Hospital is a smoke free zone.
- All medicines and other consumables shall be purchased from the Hospital Pharmacy and Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) only. If related to the condition of admission, brought-in oral maintenance medications may be allowed only for the first 48 hours of hospital stay. Subsequent doses will strictly be coming from the Hospital Pharmacy.
- In the event that the prescribed medication is unavailable at the Hospital Pharmacy due to stockouts from our suppliers, we will source the medication from other reputable pharmacies. Please note that handling fees will be charged to the patient’s expense for the procurement of medications from external sources.
- Companions should not leave their patients alone.
- Loitering is not allowed inside the hospital premises.
- Extra pillows and blankets brought by the patients/relatives are strictly not allowed. This is to ensure the safety of the patient and to abide by our Hospital Infection Control.
- Bringing pets is not allowed.

- Available Parking is located at the back of the Diliman Doctors Hospital building.

ROOM CLEANING AND CHANGE OF LINEN
Daily cleaning of rooms by the housekeeping. Rooms are sanitized for safety of our patients before the admission of new patients.
Daily changing of linen after the morning care. Requests for additional pillow and linen shall be charged to the account of the patient.
